- Use the existing sink top hole for the RO faucet installation or drill a new hole in the sink or countertop. The hole should be 1-3/8″ diameter. Insert black and blue tubes into the hole, leaving about one foot of tubing on the countertop. Locate red tubing that’s connected to the RO filter and route the loose end through the countertop to faucet. Mount faucet body onto base. Install the battery on the faucet base.
- Cut tubes to length and connect.
- Sanitize your system. Make sure the RO system is turned off and the tank is empty. Add 3 ml of bleach to the yellow tube and connect the yellow tubing to the tank connector. Pressure test the system and purge the bleach. Do not consume water before the purging is complete. Note that it will take several hours before the water is ready for drinking.
No maintenance is required for your new RO system other than changing the filters. The WHEERF pre-filter and WHEERF post-filter require changing every six months, while the WHEERM membrane needs to be replaced every one to two years.
