VALVES WEAR OUT QUICKLY, GE DOESN'T CARE. AUGUST 6, 2012
Lydon from Boulder, CO
As the previous reviewers said, the manifold has 2 plastic valves that wear out and are not serviceable. Calls to GE were met with the response "sorry, we rarely see failures on these units, it will need to be replaced, we will offer you no help or discounts."
This filter system was great until this problem, I can't recommend it b/c it's unreliable, expensive to replace, and GE's customer service is seriously lacking.

WATER TASTE IMPROVED, PRODUCT HAS PROBLEMS GE IS NOT ADDRESSING JULY 5, 2012
Kevin from NE Florida
I've had GE under sink filters for years and have been very happy with the water quality. The new design though has a serious flaw that GE refuses to acknowledge. I have seen it mentioned in on line reviews yet their customer service seems unaware of the problem. The small pin valve in the unit that holds the filters eventually wears down and water will only flow at a trickle. I called GE about this and only got lip service, they did not offer to replace/ repair the unit or give me any suggestions for a fix. They were however sorry I was having the problem. I've tried pinching the tabs on the filters to make the valve work better and that works marginally for a short time. I even went as far...Read More

EASY TO INSTALL BUT 1 MAJOR FLAW APRIL 8, 2012
ThomperYT from San Diego, CA, USA
Even after reading all the reviews on this web site I still gave this model a try because my neighbor has one and it works great.
It was easy to install and works fine, but has 1 major install/design feature flaw.
When installing the faucet head on top of the sink, you have to turn it 90 degrees which requires the handle to face towards the splash guard at the rear of the sink. Well if you only have a few inches it will not sit flush and install properly. In other words you need a good 6 inches between the center of the hole cut into the sink and the back of the splash guard. So if you sink is very close to your wall be sure to measure it before you buy.
Considering this is a basic feature...Read More
